Artist Marci MacGuffie creates installations, paintings, drawings, and sculptures inspired by patterns in nature. She created a 26,000 year astronomical clock combining Geocentric and Heliocentric models with her other patterning based on coincidences she documented for 25 years. MacGuffie has exhibited in Asia, Europe, Canada and US. Her work has been reviewed in TimeOut Singapore, Montreal Mirror, Forbes Life, The New Yorker and New York Times. MacGuffies work is also included in the book titled, “Art in Action, Nature, Creativity and our Collective Future” published by Palace Press/ Earth Aware Editions. Her teaching positions/visiting artists include Cornell University, Aldrich Museum, Fairfield University, Rhode Island School of Design. Marci MacGuffie lived in DUMBO Brooklyn for 20 years from 2003-2023 where she was a high school mentor with Smack Mellon’s education program called Art Ready. She studied at Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture (2001), Rhode Island School of Design (Honors 2000) and Cornell University (Honors 1995). Born Chicago, IL, 1972, Marci MacGuffie lives and works in Port Chester, NY.
